This one-day technical session offers participants hands-on instruction aimed at building confidence and competency with basic coldshop equipment. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, students will learn to operate tools such as flat lap wheels (both magnetic and grit), the Denver lathe, belt sander, wet saw, and handheld die grinder. Please note that this session does not include training on the sandblaster or engraving lathes.
Foci MCGA provides a variety of pre-made glass "blanks" for practice, allowing participants to develop their skills on real materials. Completion of this session fulfills the coldworking orientation requirement and qualifies participants for studio rental.
No experience required.
