Welcoming Our New Executive Director

The Foci Minnesota Center for Glass Arts Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of our next Executive Director, Anna Lehner.  Anna will succeed our current executive director, Kelly Nezworski who is looking forward to returning to the community as an active glass maker.  Anna will begin their appointment September 1st, 2021.

Prior to joining Foci MCGA, Anna worked in higher education managing Modeling Movement, a University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Education initiative.  At Modeling Movement, they worked to address the challenge of diversifying the range of therapeutic modalities available to individuals with Parkinson Disease by engagement in physical activity in the name of craft.  Anna is also an accomplished interdisciplinary artist working at the intersections of art and structural geology.  They received a MA/MFA in Glass at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and were a graduate associate to the Center for Culture, History and Environment within the Nelson Institute. Lehner has received multiple awards including a Fulbright Graduate Research Award, Jutta Cuny-Franz Memorial Award, and included in professional publications such as New Glass Review of the Corning Museum of Glass.

The Board is excited to continue to fulfill our strategic plan and the potential of our new location under Anna’s leadership.  We hope you will all join us in officially welcoming Anna as Executive Director and celebrate Kelly’s return as a practicing artist at our October Open House.  In the meantime, please stop by and introduce yourself to Anna after September 1st!
