Hands-on experience for two participants!
60 minutes | $145 per pair (two votive candle holders)
Add warmth and ambience to your Valentine’s celebration with this hands-on kiln-formed glass experience. Working alongside a professional glass artist, pairs of participants will design and create two custom glass votive candle holders.
Participants will be introduced to kiln-formed glass processes and safely guided through cutting, shaping, layering, and arranging colored sheet glass. Kiln-forming allows for detailed design control and is a slower-paced alternative to hot shop experiences, with no exposure to molten glass or hot equipment.
Finished pieces will be fired and cooled in the kiln and available for gallery pickup within 7 days of your session.
Age Requirements:
Minors ages 9-13 are allowed to participate with a parent/guardian who has also purchased a seat in the same class. (Our studio space cannot accommodate additional non-participating spectators, and youth under the age of 14 cannot attend alone for safety reasons.)
Minors ages 14-17 are allowed to work independently with parent’s permission (signed Minor Liability Release form on file).
Open to adults of any age
Waivers: All students and parents of minor students are required to read and sign a waiver, which indicates all of the safety risks involved with glassmaking and provides contact information.
Health: It is the responsibility of the student to take care of themselves if they possess any health or cognitive conditions that could be affected by working in Foci MCGA’s facilities. It is the responsibility of the student to notify staff of such conditions, should it affect their health and impair regular studio operations.
Impairment: Students are not permitted to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol during class.
