During your Flameworking Glass Discovery experience, you will work one-on-one with a glass instructor to create three to five hanging glass icicle ornaments!
An experienced instructor will explain the safety, equipment, and tools used to create flameworked glass artwork. Participants will have the icicle-making process demonstrated and explained to them, and then one at a time will be coached through the steps of creating a colorful, glass “icicles” of their own! This hands-on process will include learning about how artists use glass on the torch, how to shape glass in a flame, and how to add stripes of color to the piece. Our instructor will adapt to each participant’s level of comfort in the studio space to ensure a wonderful experience. This class is perfect for beginners who would like to try their hands at flameworking glass on a tabletop torch! This Glass Discovery experience uses borosilicate glass (COE 33). Students create 3-5 small glass icicles about 2-5 inches in length.
3 hour duration. No experience required and all materials are provided.
