Youth & Teen Art Glass Camps in Minneapolis
Bring your children and your neighborhood’s children together for our glass blowing classes for kids in Minneapolis, MN! We offer a variety of glass classes based on age, type of object produced, and material complexity. Whether students are experimenting with glass making for the first time or have done it before and want a more advanced challenge, our glass exploration camps for kids and teens in Minneapolis, MN, are the great fit! Individuals 14 years old and up are also eligible to sign up for our Core Classes.
Foci MGCA offers a full-tuition scholarship open to BIPOC and a need based half-tuition scholarship open to anyone with financial need. Camp scholarships for 2025 have been placed. Please check back in 2026.

Masks are not required but strongly recommended. Disposable masks are available upon arrival.

Teen Fire & Fuse Camp (Ages 13-17)
This exciting crossover camp introduces teens to the creative possibilities of combining glass flameworking and kilnforming processes! Students will start by learning how to safely shape glass using a torch to create colorful elements like petals, dots, and twisted cane. After annealing, these handmade components will be brought into the kiln forming studio, where students will design and fuse them into a one-of-a-kind glass platter. Flameworking and Kiln forming are less physically demanding than glassblowing in the Hot Shop, making this camp a fun and accessible way for teens to explore the fascinating world of glass.

Heat Warning: If the glassblowing studio is too hot to safely work, alternate kilnforming or flameworking glass projects will be made.

Kids Glass Camp - Fired Up! (Ages 9-12)
This five day camp for ages 9-12 introduces students to the magic of working with glass through glassblowing (shaping molten glass), kilnforming (designing and fusing colorful sheet glass), and Flameworking (melting glass rods over a torch). Participants focus on learning to safely use glass as an artistic expression and make a series of glass sculptures throughout the week. Our unique Summer Camps for kids use glass making processes to teach valuable skills such as team building, creative problem solving, and communication with peers and instructors.

This Glassblowing Camp for Teens encourages students to explore their creative sides by making sculptural expressions with molten glass. Participants practice exercises in collaborative group projects as well as individual explorations to make a series of blown and solid forms over the course of the week. Our unique Summer Camps for teens use glass making processes to teach valuable skills such as team building, creative problem solving, and communication with peers and instructors.

Heat Warning: Glassblowing classes are hot, especially over the summer! If individuals are particularly sensitive to heat, we recommend they sign up for classes exploring Flameworking, Stained Glass, or Kilnforming processes.

This Stained Glass Camp for Teens ages 13-17 teaches teens to work with sheets of glass to create patterns for various stained glass suncatchers. They will learn how to cut and grind glass, piece them together, and use copper foil to line edges for soldering! This is a great way to stay out of the heat and learn the fundamentals of creating stained glass.

Teen Flameworking Glass Camp (Ages 13-17)

This Flameworking Camp for Teens ages 13-17 introduces students to the limitless potential of forming hot glass with a torch. Teens will learn how to make glass beads, marbles, pendants, and sculptures, as well as networking projects! Students will learn about two different glass types in this camp and their - Italian soft glass and borosilicate. The process of flameworking can be less intimidating and physical than glassblowing in the Hot Shop and is a great introduction to the possibilities of working with molten glass.
