Working with neon is electrifying and provocative. This popular class is a fantastic introduction to the world of neon. Participants learn how to make simple and complex bends in glass tubes, along with torch setup and safety, splicing electrodes onto glass tubes, and designing patterns. Whether interested in creating signs or sculptural compositions, this class gives people the starting skills to create a project of their own design and continue renting studio time after course completion! Working outside of class time is not required, but recommended to practice skills between classes. Students receive discounted rental time throughout the duration of their course.
No experience required.
6-week course, 18 hours of class time total. Offered quarterly.
$545/person. All materials are provided to create and light up at least one piece per student. Materials are available for purchase to create additional neon pieces if needed.
