Add to your fusing and slumping repertoire and expand your kiln knowledge in this intermediate kilnforming course at Foci MCGA! Learn advanced cutting techniques, how to refine irregular shapes with grinding equipment, create elaborate pattern bars, as well as glass painting, kilncarving, and sandblasting to name a few!
Prerequisite: Completed Intro to Kilnforming or equivalent experience.
All materials and tools provided.
6-week course. Offered semiannually.
Class is limited to 6 seats (smaller class size due to material complexity). Minimum of 3 students.
This educational service is nontaxable.
NOTE: To ensure proper use of the kilns and success of artwork, all class projects (made outside of class time) should be set aside and fired by the instructor when class meets next.
Kilns may be rented at a discounted rate by students during class, and up to 7 days past the final day of class. Within this time frame, students can use scrap glass for projects or bring in their own glass.
