Building on skills learned in Intro to Glassblowing, Refining Fundamentals will push students to further refine and hone fundamental skills that can be useful in their own private practice. In this course, students will be introduced to a variety of techniques that will broaden their perspectives in how to approach their glassblowing. Each week will focus on a different technique that will help build a repertoire for students to reference when making their own work. Techniques include: making thinner cups/vessels, trimming lips, making various shaped vessels, bitwork & handles, and various types of feet. While working outside of class hours is not required, it is recommended to practice skills between classes - all actively enrolled students get discounted rental rates in the glassblowing Hot Shop.

Prerequisites: Completed Intro to Glassblowing or equivalent.
