Glass Coldworking Classes

Interested in knowing how to manipulate glass surfaces and pieces without stepping into the hotshop? Our coldworking glass classes in Minneapolis, MN, have everything you need to begin. Throughout our offerings, you can learn coldworking glass techniques such as grinding, engraving, cutting, and polishing. As is the case with our hot glass classes, different visiting artists teach some of our courses, providing you a personalized view into not only their professional techniques but how they approach projects from scratch. Students taking any of our coldworking glass classes in Minneapolis, MN, will learn how to safely and efficiently use general Cold Shop equipment, preparing them for future studio rentals if desired. All Recurring Glass Coldworking Classes Offered:

  • Intensive Core Classes

    • Intro to Coldworking, 6-week course. Offered semiannually. No experience required.

    • Coldworking Crash Course, 1 day session. Offered quarterly. No experience required.

    • Visiting Artist Workshops, 5 day intensive class (prerequisite is dependent on curriculum).

Class Release Schedule:

  • Q1 Winter Core Classes: held January-March. Enrollment opens by November 1st. Scholarships for this quarter are due December 1st - apply here!

  • Q2 Spring Core Classes: held April-June. Enrollment opens by February 1st. Scholarships for this quarter are due March 1st - apply here!

  • Q3 Summer Core Classes: held July-September. Enrollment opens by May 1st. Scholarships for this quarter are due June 1st - apply here!
