Free Hands-On Stained Glass Activity for the East Franklin Corridor Arts Festival & Twin Cities MakerFest
When: Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 11:00am-3:00pm
Where: 26th Avenue, between Pautz Pl. and 22nd St.
The event will be a free, family-friendly art street fair where local artists affiliated with local organizations can share their work and offer hands-on art experiences to the broader community and showcase the vibrant arts and culture in our neighborhood.
Hands-On Stained Glass Charm/Pendant Activity Description: Learn about the stained glass process by trying out our free, brief hands-on stained glass trinket activity! Select the glass colors, copper foil the edges, and solder a jump ring onto your own stained glass charm or pendant (approx 1-2 inches). Walk-up activity, no prior registration required. Free to attend. One project per person. Solder is lead-free. Participants must sign a Liability Release Form.
The City of Minneapolis' Cultural District Arts Fund - Festivals and Cultural Spaces Activation awarded Bench Pressed a grant to make this event possible. The goal with this grant is to showcase the diversity among artists and art organizations within the neighborhood while providing attendees with opportunities to experience art in new ways. https://benchpressed.com/
Twin Cities MakerFest will be a street fair with free activities, large demos, food trucks, and 150 local artists and craftspeople. We will also be side-by-side with Bench Pressed’s street event the same day, hopefully drawing overlapping crowds. Emerging & experienced makers alike are encouraged to share their work. We hope that Maker Fest will provide a purposefully safe space, and an opportunity for the community to support a wide variety of creators. Therefore, BIPOC, LGBT+, Disabled, and Fat creators will be favored in the application selection process. Ideally, we’ll have enough room for everyone to join! https://tcmaker.org/twin-cities-makerfest-2025/
