Foci MCGA is closing the studio down early on Friday April 21, 2023 for a community potluck!

Open to community members with a connection to glass or Foci MCGA!

Due to the pandemic, it has been awhile since we've gotten everyone together for some fun. If you're able to, bring a small dish to pass and come hang out! Forge some new connections, enjoy some food, and play around in the hotshop. We'd love for you to join us!

This event is not restricted to current members only. We encourage previous members, students, and glass lovers to attend as well! If you haven't been to the new studio location yet, this is a great opportunity to explore it and meet some of the new faces.

BYOB. Outlets will be available for crock pots. Serving tongs and spoons will be available. Disposable plates and utensils will be provided. Click here to access the signup sheet to let everyone know what food item you plan to bring! The gallery and studio rental will be closed. Staff will not be on duty.

Optional Activities

The hotshop will be open for a game of ‘magic stick’, where the challenge is to create a cup using only gravity and a mystery tool! Games begin at 7pm.

We also encourage makers to bring a piece of glass of theirs for a free randomized glass exchange! To participate, bring a piece of glass to be included in the raffle. Place it on the Flame Shop table and fill out a slip to tape to your piece. Suggested items are cups or bowls, small sculptures, pieces that don’t quite pass quality control, or cool experimental tests you’ve done in glass. The exchange will take place at 8:00pm. No money will be exchanged for pieces. Sharp glass will not be accepted.

Parking Information

Street sweeping is in effect in our neighborhood so we have arranged for potluck attendees to access the A-Craft parking lot on our block.
