Angus Powers has had lengthy and exciting career as an artist and educator. He is currently Associate Professor and the Glass Area Head at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Powers received his MFA from the Tyler School of Art, Temple University and BFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Powers has an extensive exhibition record and has been recognized internationally. He is best known for his innovative and experimental approach to making glass.
This course will discuss how to work through ideas with the students current set of skills. Students will be encouraged to re-purpose their skills. In this class students will discover new methods of constructing objects in the hot shop using bits and working in a team.
