A Fresh Gather

Foci MCGA will open their doors to a new state-of-the art glassblowing facility in Spring 2020.

After three years of planning, we are excited to announce that Foci MCGA will have a new studio space in the Focus Arts Building of the Seward neighborhood. As Minnesota’s only non-profit, public-access community glass studio, and education center, expansion is vital to our organization’s sustainability.

This move is a fresh gather for glass artists in Minnesota, but we need the support of our community to make it happen. Foci MCGA is launching $500K capital campaign to support our improvements and sustain our operations through this transition. The success of our campaign is measured not only by the amount of a given contribution, but also by the number of individuals who participate. When you make a tax-deductible contribution, it helps demonstrate to foundations, granting agencies, and our Minnesota community that we have strong support from those we serve. Gifts of all levels matter and each person can truly make a difference.

Your support will help us:

  • Build dedicated classroom and work space to better serve our students,

    artists, and community.

  • Establish ourselves in a centrally located neighborhood, with distinct facade,

street front visibility, and ADA accessibility.

  • Bring us closer to our community partners MCAD, the American Swedish Institute,

Northern Clay, and the U of MN.

  • Create gallery and exhibition space to promote local glass artists.

  • Build a flameworking studio that is accessible to our MN community by the hour.

  • Storage space for practicing artists

We believe that Minnesota glass art deserves to be highlighted and accessible for all. That is why we are asking you to grab a pen, pick up the phone, or visit our website. This is a significant moment and your contribution helps us bring together a fresh gather for the arts community. To build an establishment with unlimited creative potential for ourselves, friends, neighbors, and future generations.
